Your privacy
How we protect your information
Our commitment
Flutterby Psychology is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of the people we serve. This policy explains, in plain language, how we handle personal information. As a psychology practice in Alberta, we follow applicable privacy legislation, including Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Health Information Act (HIA) where it applies.
Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to provide care and run our practice — for example, your name and contact details, the information you share during sessions, and booking and billing details. Online bookings are handled through our scheduling provider (Jane), which maintains its own security and privacy standards.
How we use your information
Your information is used to provide and coordinate your care, schedule appointments, process payments and insurance where applicable, and meet our professional and legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
Confidentiality & its limits
What you share in sessions is kept confidential, within the limits required by law and professional ethics — for example, where there is a risk of serious harm to you or others, concerns about the safety of a child or vulnerable person, or a legal requirement to disclose. We will explain these limits at the start of our work together.
Your choices
You may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, request corrections, or ask questions about how it's handled. Contact us at info@flutterbypsychology.com and we'll be glad to help.
This page is a plain-language overview, not legal advice. We recommend having your final privacy policy reviewed by a qualified professional before the site goes live.
