How we work

Relationship-first, practical, and paced for you

We begin by taking time to understand each person's unique experiences, strengths, challenges, and goals. Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach, we develop a plan together that's tailored to your needs.

We also recognize that struggles rarely occur in isolation. Stress, relationships, parenting, ADHD, autism, burnout, grief, trauma, life transitions, and physical health can all play a role. Effective support often means understanding the whole person and the broader context of their life.

What to expect

Your first few sessions

Starting therapy can feel like a big step. Our goal early on is to help you feel comfortable, understood, and supported while we begin building a plan together.

Getting to know you

We talk about what brought you to counselling, the challenges you're experiencing, and what you hope will be different. Most importantly, we begin building a trusting relationship where you feel heard without judgment.

Understanding patterns

We clarify your goals together and begin identifying the thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and experiences that may be keeping you stuck — and introduce strategies to help you feel more supported between sessions.

Building skills & creating change

Many clients begin developing practical tools tailored to their needs — managing worry, lifting mood and motivation, building self-compassion, strengthening regulation, and creating healthier routines.

Therapy isn't about "fixing" you. It's about understanding what you're experiencing, building on your strengths, and helping you move toward the life you want to live.
